Best Ginger Tea Products – You Got to Try These!

Ginger tea is one of the most popular herbal teas and it’s also one of my personal favorites. There are many types of ginger teas available whether you want it in a tea bag, loose-leaf form, or blended with other ingredients. In this article, I will introduce the best ginger tea products that I have found.

Ginger tea has a spicy and warm taste that many find pleasant and it also has many health benefits and medicinal uses. According to research ginger tea is a good remedy for nausea caused by different reasons (e.g. pregnancy, chemotherapy) and it can also help with digestive issues (heartburn, acid reflux, GERD, IBS). It is also an effective remedy for sore throat and cough. Other health benefits include protection again heart disease, helping with weight and blood sugar control, pain relief and immune system support.

Below I will introduce my favorite ginger tea products. I will also give you a little bit of information about the company behind each product. Keep on reading and find the best ginger-tea for your preference!

Ginger Tea Bags – Pure Ginger

Using tea bags to brew your ginger tea is a convenient and easy option that will give you a great-tasting cup of tea. You will get the best result by steeping the tea bag in freshly boiled water for about 10-15 minutes. Below you can find my favorite brands of tea bags that contain only pure ginger.

Buddha Teas Organic Ginger Root TeaBuddha Teas Organic Ginger Tea

Buddha Teas was founded by John Boyd who was born in the UK. He moved to the United States in 2006 and later founded the company with an idea of providing the customers sustainably sourced, high-quality and healthy teas.

All Buddha Tea products are made from 100% organic and unaltered herbs and tea leaves. I really like their principle of not adding any artificial or natural flavoring to their teas. In addition, they only use unbleached tea bags made from recycled material.

The taste of tea brewed with Buddha Teas Organic Ginger Root Tea tea bags comes close to ginger tea made from freshly minced ginger, because the bags contain only dried and ground ginger root. No other herbs or sweeteners have been added. This means that the tea is also quite spicy and strong tasting. I think these are the best tea bags to buy if you want high-quality, organic, 100% pure ginger tea. They also offer free shipping for all orders over 50 dollars that are placed in the US.

Traditional Medicinals Organic Ginger Herbal Tea

Traditional Medicinals is a company based in California and founded in 1974. They emphasize the purity of ingredients, sustainability, and environmental activism. One of the founders of the company is Rosemary Gladstar, a teacher and author, who also founded The California School of Herbal Studies. Traditional Medicinals is the leading seller of wellness teas in the U.S. and their products are known for high-quality standards.

This Ginger tea contains 100% USDA certified organic ginger. This is a great product for anyone who is looking for high-quality ginger tea bags!

Triple Leaf Tea, Ginger

Triple Leaf Teas is a family business owned by a Chinese-American family. They use authentic Chinese herbs from experienced herbalists.

Their ginger tea is 100% pure ginger. This is a good quality product and the price is also very affordable. Amazon’s offer for 120 tea bags offers great value!

Ginger Tea Blends in Tea Bags – Delicious!

If you want a tea where ginger is combined with other ingredients for a more diverse taste and/or a greater variety of health benefits you should try these blends:

Taylors of Harrogate Lemon & Ginger Herbal Tea

Taylors of Harrogate is a family company based in Harrogate, England. It’s a traditional company founded over 100 years ago and they offer various tea and coffee products.

These tea bags contain a variety of ingredients: 37% ginger, 5% lemongrass, apple pieces, sweet blackberry leaves, roasted chicory root, silver lime flowers, lemon peel, galangal, citric acid, and natural flavorings (lemon, lime, and others). This blend tastes delicious and aromatic. It is a very popular product and offers a superb treat for your taste buds!

The Republic of Tea Organic Turmeric Ginger Green Tea

The Republic of Tea is one of my favorite tea companies. The company is based in California and they have a great variety of teas, herbs, and bottled ice-teas. Their products come in award-winning air-tight and light-resistant tins that keep the products fresh. Also, they always use unbleached tea bags.

This organic tea blend consists of turmeric, ginger, green tea, cinnamon, and natural honey flavor. I like all the different teas I have tried from The Republic of Tea and this one is not an exception. This blend has a nice and smooth taste and I really enjoy drinking it!

Yogi Tea – Ginger

The story behind Yogi Tea is quite interesting. A Kundalini Yoga master Yogi Bhajan came to Europe in the 1960s and served his students a tea made from cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, cloves, and black pepper. After the tea became more popular it was officially sold under the brand Yogi Tea starting from 1989. Currently, there are dozens of varieties of Yogi Tea available.

This tea is a blend of organic ingredients: ginger root, lemongrass, licorice root, peppermint leaf, and black pepper. The taste is a mixture of ginger and quite strong black pepper flavor with a hint of fruitiness. If you like the taste of ginger and black pepper in tea, then try it out! However, for some people, the kick of these two ingredients might be too much.

Loose Leaf Ginger Tea Blends – For the Connoisseurs

Using loose leaf tea allows you to adjust the amount of tea to suit your needs. If you want to brew a large amount of tea in a teapot or french press you can use a bigger amount of tea but if you are just going to make one small cup for yourself you can take just a small amount of the blend. Here are my favorite three loose-leaf ginger tea blends:

The Tao of Tea, Hibiscus Ginger Tea

The Tao of Tea is a company based in Portland, Oregon, offering a range of specialty teas. Their products are organic and fair trade and they put extra care to provide products made from high quality and fresh ingredients.

This handcrafted blend of Hibiscus flower petals and dried ginger comes in a nice container. It has a sweet and warm taste and it also makes an excellent ice-tea. If you are looking for a nice organic ginger tea blend, which has enough ginger in it, this is an excellent choice!

Vahdam, Turmeric + Ginger Herbal Tea

Vahdam teas are produced in India and they procure the teas directly from plantations right after harvest and then package them in their Delhi facility. After this, the products are shipped directly to different locations around the world. This ensures that their products are fresh and the farmers get a better price for their harvest. Vahdam teas are fair trade and they also direct 1% of the company’s revenue to the education of the tea workers’ children.

Vahdam’s turmeric and ginger tea is truly a powerful combination with a lot of antioxidants and numerous health benefits. The product comes in a vacuum-sealed package ensuring the freshness and preservation of aroma. You also get an aluminum lined 2-seal zipper bag for storing the tea after opening the vacuum seal. This is a product I sincerely recommend if you like the taste of ginger and turmeric, or just want the health benefits offered by this superb blend!

Rishi Tea Organic Turmeric Ginger Loose Leaf Herbal Tea

Rishi is a well-known brand with directly sourced, fair trade, organic products. The company is based in Milwaukee and they offer sustainably produced teas with excellent quality.

Rishi’s turmeric and ginger tea actually includes several other ingredients as well. The other ingredients are licorice root, lemongrass, orange peel, lemon peel and essential orange and lemon oils. All ingredients are organic. This product has an interesting combination of several ingredients with health benefits. However, the best thing about this tea is that it tastes awesome!

Instant Ginger Tea – Quick and Easy

In general, I am not a big fan of instant teas. However, there are a couple of excellent instant ginger tea products that I want to introduce. Also, instant tea is the easiest and fastest way of making tea, just boil some water (or use cold water) and add the powder and mix.

Prince of Peace Instant Ginger Honey Crystals

Prince of Peace Enterprises was founded in 1983, is based in San Francisco Bay Area, California, and offers various gourmet and herbal products, teas and dietary supplements.

This instant tea contains ginger, cane sugar, honey, and glucose. It tastes pretty damn good if you like your tea sweet and spicy! Also, it can be used to make hot or cold tea.

Balance Grow Honey, Citron & Ginger Tea

I love the idea of this product. It is basically premium honey mixed with citron slices and ginger. Honey is a perfect medium for storing ginger and making the preparation of tea very easy.

I really like making my own honey, lemon and ginger tea from the beginning, because it tastes so nice and is a good remedy for cough and sore throat. However, after trying this product I feel like it’s not necessary to make it myself anymore because this tea is as good as homemade!

  1. Hi Joonas:

This is exciting! Just reading your article gives me a burst of energy I get from actually drinking a cup of hot ginger tea. I’m a herbal tea lover, ginger being one of my favorites. I am from the islands, and we love our herbal teas, usually from our gardens or the local market.

From the ones displayed above, I have only had the Yogi. Some time ago, I found a Ginger Moringa by Greystone. Otherwise, I’ve had those found in the supermarkets.

I will definitely try something I’ve never had before and probably come back here to give my opinion about it.

Thank you so much for sharing all this valuable information.

  3. I have to admit, that ginger is having some magnificent impact on your body. The power of it is just amazing. It is really helpful that you have created this kind of article, as I and so maybe many others, did not know about such a bride selection of products, particularly teas. As you mentioned by the last product, I am as well doing it by myself at home, whenever I am feeling that I am starting to have flu and always I do need 2 days max and I am completely fit. So simple and helpful it is. I would definitely recommend giving a try some of the products written in the article. Really great work, Jonas!
