What to Consider Before Buying

We are all individuals with our preference for taste and aroma. Also, some of us put more emphasis on sustainable production and ethical values.

Here are some important things to consider before buying your ginger tea:

Product Quality: There are many factors that affect the quality of herbal tea. It all starts with sourcing fresh, high-quality ingredients, and having proper quality control to ensure there are no impurities or contaminants.

Packaging: It is important that the product is well packed to retain its freshness and protect it from moisture.

Taste and Aroma: Ginger tea products vary in strength, spiciness, and aroma. If you like your ginger tea strong, then it is better to buy a product that will give you a satisfactory infusion without having to use many tea bags for one cup.

Ecology: Some brands provide sustainably sourced organic products that are produced in harmony with nature. They often consider the well being of the farmers and employees as well. Even the packages are made from recycled materials. Other brands focus more on efficiency and high profit.

Price: Organic first-class products often cost a bit more than your regular bulk options. It is up to you to decide if you are willing to pay more.

Ingredients: The blends introduced in this article consist of several different herbal ingredients. Pay close attention to the ingredients to find a product that suits your preference.

Using tea bags to brew your ginger tea is a convenient and easy option that will give you a great-tasting cup of tea.

I really like their principle of not adding any artificial or natural flavoring to their teas. In addition, they only use unbleached tea bags made from recycled material.

The taste of tea brewed with Buddha Teas Organic Ginger Root Tea tea bags comes close to ginger tea made from freshly minced ginger, because the bags contain only dried and ground ginger root.

No other herbs or sweeteners have been added. This means that the tea is also quite spicy and strong tasting.

These are the best tea bags to buy if you want high-quality, organic, 100% pure ginger tea.

Yogi Ginger Tea

Yogi Ginger Tea
  • Amount: 96 tea bags
  • Type: Organic herbal tea blend with ginger

The story behind Yogi Tea is quite interesting. A Kundalini Yoga master Yogi Bhajan came to Europe in the 1960s and served his students a tea made from cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, cloves, and black pepper.

After the tea became more popular it was officially sold under the brand Yogi Tea starting from 1989. Currently, there are dozens of varieties of Yogi Tea available.

This tea is a blend of organic ingredients: ginger root, lemongrass, licorice root, peppermint leaf, and black pepper.

The taste is a mixture of ginger and quite a strong black pepper flavor with a hint of fruitiness.

If you like the taste of ginger and black pepper in tea, then try it out! However, for some people, the kick of these two ingredients might be too much.

Best Loose Ginger Tea Blends – For the Connoisseurs

Using loose leaf tea allows you to adjust the amount of tea to suit your needs.

If you want to brew a large amount of tea in a teapot or french press you can use a bigger amount of tea. Just as easy, you can take a small amount of the blend and put it in a tea ball strainer to make one cup for yourself.

TIP: Store your loose ginger tea in an airtight container to keep it fresh for longer.

Best Instant Ginger Teas – Quick and Easy

In general, I am not a big fan of instant teas. However, there are a couple of excellent instant ginger tea products that I want to introduce.

  1. Hi Joonas:

This is exciting! Just reading your article gives me a burst of energy I get from actually drinking a cup of hot ginger tea. I’m a herbal tea lover, ginger being one of my favorites. I am from the islands, and we love our herbal teas, usually from our gardens or the local market.

From the ones displayed above, I have only had the Yogi. Some time ago, I found a Ginger Moringa by Greystone. Otherwise, I’ve had those found in the supermarkets.

I will definitely try something I’ve never had before and probably come back here to give my opinion about it.

Thank you so much for sharing all this valuable information.

It is really helpful that you have created this kind of article, as I and so maybe many others, did not know about such a bride selection of products, particularly teas. As you mentioned by the last product, I am as well doing it by myself at home, whenever I am feeling that I am starting to have flu and always I do need 2 days max and I am completely fit. So simple and helpful it is. I would definitely recommend giving a try some of the products written in the article. Really great work, Jonas!

  5. Hi Joonas,
I am so happy to have found your article on Gerd. I am struggling with this problem now. I have never been to a gastroenterology Dr. and I can’t get in until August. I can’t eat anything without causing severe heartburn. It’s hard to sleep at night, it’s hard to work. So I am greatful for your article. I have a bag of Organic ginger powder. I haven’t thought to try it because of its spiciness.I thought it would make it worse. Would this be OK to use for tea? Also I have hibiscus tea would this be helpful?

    • Hi Kathy,

Great to hear that you found my article helpful. I have tried making tea with ginger powder but I didn’t like it that much because it’s quite strong and you end up ingesting the powder. However, you can try it with a small amount and see how your stomach reacts to it. I recommend you try adding half a teaspoon of ginger powder to one cup of hot water and drinking after a meal. You can also add some hibiscus tea into the mix if you want. If you don’t like the ginger powder, just buy some fresh ginger or ginger tea bags instead.

I hope your GERD symptoms will get better soon!
